Gartner says Telepo technology drives ‘Transformational Impact’
Stockholm, August 19, 2011
Telepo has been listed in analyst house Gartner’s latest Unified Communication (UC) report – ‘Hype Cycle for Unified Communications and Collaboration 2011’. A Gartner Hype Cycle looks at a market, such as UC, and maps out which technologies and trends within it are over-hyped, potentially transformational, mature or obsolete.
We are excited because we are recognized as a sample vendor of mobile UC. Mobile UC is singled out in the report as the only transformational technology within the next five years. In Gartner’s terminology, mobile UC has passed the peak in the Hype Cycle and is moving towards ‘The Plateau of Productivity’. As mobile UC reaches early mainstream adoption in two to five years, it will have a transformational impact (that is, the potential to dramatically transform business operations and bring major benefits to enterprises).
Specifically, Gartner describes mobile UC as having: “Enormous potential to change the way companies plan and support communications systems… Mobile UC can transform how vendors support communications for mobile users in the enterprise.”
Telepo CEO Lars Wahlström said: “This is great news for us as Gartner is one of the world’s top analyst houses and its opinion carries great weight with our customers – telecom operators and other service providers. The mobile element of our Business Communication Solution is something we are very proud of and we are pleased to see its potential recognised. This report confirms what we have experienced as telecom operators worldwide intensify their efforts to position themselves as leaders in this new growth market.”
