Edward Kozel new Chairman of Telepo Board of Directors
Ed Kozel has been a Board member of Telepo since March 2008 and has been actively involved in the company’s expansion.
“We are very pleased with Ed Kozel as the new Chairman. His knowledge, insights and international contacts have been a great asset to Telepo in our ongoing expansion phase”, said Kevin Comolli, Telepo Board member and Managing General Partner of Accel Partners.
Ed Kozel joined Cisco Systems in 1989 and spent 12 years in various executive positions, for example as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and SVP Business Development. During his time at Cisco, Ed Kozel was responsible for more than 22 technology acquisitions and 25 minority investments. He was also an Executive Board member for five years.
Ed Kozel has been a Board member of other companies, including Network Appliance (Nasdaq:NTAP), Yahoo (Nasdaq:YHOO) and Reuters PLC. He was previously also engaged in other technology companies such as Red Hat, Symbol Technology and TIBCO Software.
Ed Kozel commented: “Telepo has an enormous potential as a leading, independent supplier of open and mobile business communication solutions. I have enjoyed working with Hans Ahlinder and the company, and look forward to the strategic evolution of Telepo”.
Hans Ahlinder has served as the Chairman of the Board for Telepo since the company was founded in 2003 by Lars-Michaël Paqvalén and Jörgen Björkner, and has now decided to take 2 years to make a circumnavigation with his wife Monica.
“Chairing Telepo has been a very rewarding experience for me and I have enjoyed working closely with the founders and Accel to build a truly exciting company with a big potential for profitable growth. The revenues for 2009 will be more than doubling from last year, and the outlook for future strong growth looks very promising. Handing over the chair to Ed feels natural, as he is a senior and talented leader who already holds extensive knowledge in Telepo. Sailing around the world with my wife has been a dream since long, and we are really looking forward to this adventure”, said Hans Ahlinder.
