Telepo wins the 2007 European ICT Grand Prize
16 Mar, 2007

The Grand Prize was presented at the CeBIT trade fair by Commissioner Viviane Reading. Telepo was rewarded for its Business Communication Solution, which recently won the GSM Association 2007 Award for best mobile enterprise product.
Two other European companies joined Telepo on the Grand Prize podium: Transitive Corporation from the United Kingdom and Treventus Mechatronics from Austria, each company receiving an award of Euro 200 000.
"I am very pleased to receive the most prominent European technology prize. This is an encouragement for us when developing new converged multimedia solutions that enable business users to be truly mobile. To achieve true mobility, companies need to be able to re-use existing investments and our technology enables them to do that with a fast return on investment", said Lars-Michaël Paqvalén, CEO of Telepo.
The European ICT prize is organised by the European Commission and the jury selected the winners from a total of 450 companies from 30 countries.
About The European ICT Prize
The European ICT Prize, the EU's own "Nobel Prize" for innovation in information and communication technologies, is funded by the European Commission's Framework Programme for Research (see IP/06/1590). Since 1995 this has been organised every year by the Commission together with the European Council of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering (Euro-CASE). The judges are independent experts who recommend the winners and grand prize winners to the Commission. The Executive Jury was chaired this year by Professor Wolfgang Wahlster of Germany.
