The Telepo Story
Our DNA
Telepo was founded in 2004 by pioneers from the Mobile, VoIP and SIP industries with a clear vision for the company – to enable new ways of working through a modern approach to business communication solutions.
Realising that business use of communication and collaboration was being driven by the rising availability of consumer tools on the Internet, such as Instant Messaging, blogging etc, Telepo set out right from the start to ensure it had a superior user experience.
Alongside this, Telepo wanted to create a solution that was fully mobile, all-software driven and available over the public Internet.
It was this thought leadership that attracted the most innovate Service Providers, the most demanding End-User Companies and the most talented employees to work with Telepo.
A User-Centric Philosophy
The first generation of the Telepo Business Communication Solution was developed for Nokia as a mobile least cost routing solution for its employees worldwide.
The second generation evolved over the next two years through the inherent strength in mobility of the first. This led to a broadening of scope to enable mobility around traditional PBXs.
The next major step for Telepo was an agreement with Ericsson to provide the software for its next-generation IP-PBX platform. This added unified communications and full PBX capabilities to Telepo’s already strong mobility solution. Crucially, it was also at this point that Telepo enabled the first Service Providers to offer Telepo communication services to enterprises.
With the third generation of the Telepo Business Communication Solution the company really came of age. It could now enable fixed mobile convergence and provide Unified Communications as a Service with full multi-tenancy. The solution also ran over the public Internet without the need for third party security solutions and through company firewalls.
Award Winning
It was awarded ‘Cool Vendor in Wireless and Mobile’ by Gartner, the ICT ‘Grand Prize’ and also won the GSM Association’s award for the ‘Best Mobile Enterprise Product or Service’.
In the following two years Telepo signed up 15 Service Provider partners, including its first from outside the Nordics.
Telepo is now moving towards the fourth generation of its solution following the same user centric path.
Why Telepo is Different
The evolution of Telepo’s solution has given it a very strong breadth of pre-integrated features. This combined with the combination of multi-tenancy, mobility and a superior user experience makes Telepo truly unique on today’s market for business communications.
This consistent vision has placed Telepo in a robust position as it can meet all the Unified Communication and collaboration needs of an enterprise – such as mobile clients, Virtual PBX, instant messaging, conferencing – through the benefits associated with the use of Cloud Computing now.
This modern pre–integrated solution means that Telepo has an extremely fast Time to Market with service launch times from Service Provider contract signature ranging from four weeks to five months depending on Service Provider size and complexity. New businesses and end users can be added to the platform in a fully automated fashion.
Previous Unified Communication approaches have been complex, on-premise, large enterprise deployments with an inconsistent user experience across functional areas and devices. The traditional vendors will face a massive, if not impossible, task trying to convert yesterday’s approaches into modern multi-tenant, cloud computing and Internet ready platforms.
